I think now is a good time to explain myself better. First I want to thank Rants for actually posting this secret. I also want to thank everyone who has responded to it for not accusing me of being a troll. I was hoping that by posting this secret that people would come forward and confirm that it was true, and that did happen in a way. So thank you guys. You’ve restored my faith in our fandom.
Now I’m going to explain some things. First, why I didn’t actually say who the secret is about. The reason is the because of who it is, I believed that no one would be willing to believe it. Hell when I first heard about it I didn’t want to believe it. But because of who it was that first told me, I knew it was true.
That wasn’t enough to make me say anything though. Then I heard about other instances from another person. Someone who doesn’t even talk to the first person I talked to. That made me feel like something needed to be done, even though I didn’t think it would work. As for why I posted here instead on contacting someone at Channel Awesome, well, I’m not a victim. I’m just someone who is horrified by the fact that every time this get brought up it gets silenced. What am I supposed to go to the CA execs with? Things I heard and have no proof of? So I decided to try and post where I knew people would see and hopefully finally speak up. I didn’t think it would work but you all surprised me.
However now I’m not sure where to go from here. I’m still afraid to say the person’s name, still afraid to even use my own. I’ve heard about how this was received before and the result was people not willing to speak up anymore because “why bother, no one will listen”. In the end that’s what this was about, trying to find people who would listen. Now we need to make sure everyone knows so that the people this man hurt will know that they can finally talk about it.
